INITIATIVE OF
Good Karma Foundations
At the heart of the Good Karma Foundation’s mission lies a dedication to creating a meaningful impact in education, healthcare, and uplifting the underprivileged. Today, we’re excited to illuminate an exceptional initiative that seamlessly aligns with our core values – the groundbreaking creation of Rolapena.
Crafted with dedication by skilled women and differently-abled individuals, Rolapena transcends being just a paper pen – it stands as a symbol of sustainability and positive transformation. What sets it apart is the incorporation of a tree seed at its base. This ingenious addition takes the concept of reusability a step further by offering the potential for each used pen to become a thriving tree, a beautiful embodiment of environmental stewardship.
Ammommathiri, an initiative that shines a spotlight on the profound wisdom and purpose that resides within our elders. Developed by the Good Karma Foundation, this heartwarming endeavor empowers residents of old age homes by providing them the means to craft wicks for oil lamps. Every delicate thread they weave carries not just their experience, but also their enduring spirit of contribution.
Ammommathiri, also known as Wicksdom, pays homage to these extraordinary individuals who have journeyed through life’s chapters, carrying a treasury of knowledge and insight. Through this initiative, these remarkable souls find a meaningful outlet for their talents, channeling their time into an activity that holds both purpose and value. By crafting wicks for oil lamps, they not only find solace in their efforts but also contribute to their own livelihood.
In a world driven by innovation and compassion, the Good Karma Foundation continues to illuminate the path towards impactful change. At it’s core, Shayya is symbol of ingenious resourcefulness. By harnessing the surplus material from the creation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) gowns, these lightweight bedrolls breathe new life into materials that would otherwise be discarded or incinerated due to the complexities of recycling.
At the helm of Shayya is the visionary force of Lakshmi Menon, a beacon of inspiration. Recognizing the critical need to provide comfort and care in COVID care centers, Lakshmi’s passion for positive transformation paved the way for Shayya’s remarkable journey.
As part of the expansive Quilt India Movement 2020, a poignant vertical emerged last December, touching the lives of both artisans and new mothers in need. Quilt India Samman, driven by a profound purpose, stands as a testament to the unifying force of compassion, weaving together threads of support for those affected by the pandemic’s aftermath.
In the wake of the pandemic, the livelihoods of artisans were severely impacted. Quilt India Samman was born as a response to this challenge, converting the unsold fabric of weavers into something incredibly meaningful – mommy kits for newborns in war-torn areas. This initiative is not just about creating tangible products; it’s about fulfilling dreams and restoring dignity.
This vertical stands as a testament to the transformative power of collective action, reminding us that small acts of kindness and unity can make an immeasurable impact on the lives of those in need.
